PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a trace amt. of lead safely, simply and rapidly with high sensitivity, without using a harmful extraction solvent. SOLUTION: This method is constituted of a process for mixing crown ether forming a complex along with lead ions in a sample soln. with the sample soln., a process for mixing an ion pair reagent having at least a hydrophobic functional group and capable of forming a non-sedimenting ion associate along with a formed lead complex with the sample soln., a process for passing this sample soln. through a hydrophobic filter, and a processs for analyzing and evaluating the ion associate extracted on the hydrophobic filter by the passage of the sample soln. qualitatively and quantitatively.
