ELECTRODE FOR ALKALINE BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple-structure electrode for an alkaline battery having a simple manufacturing process, effectively manufacturable at a low cost with high productivity, and allowing production of a long-service time battery having high capacity and rapid charge/discharge performance together. SOLUTION: In this electrode, an electrode layer containing a resin binder and coated particles as an active material each prepared by partially coating a surface of a nickel hydroxide particle with a nickel layer is formed on one face or both faces of a sheet-shape metal support body. A surface of the metal support body and the nickel layer of the coated particle are formed of nickel containing no phosphor or boron as impurities, or containing 5 wt.% or less in total.
