PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain an optical performance index and to improve thermal characteristics. SOLUTION: In the medium, from the incident side of light, a light- transmitting first dielectric layer 12, a magneto-optical recording layer 13, a light-transmitting metal layer 16 having 1 to 10 nm thickness having large thermal diffusion compared to the magneto-optical recording layer 13, a light- transmitting second dielectric layer 14, and a metal reflection film 15 are laminated. Thus, a proper Kerr enhancing effect is obtd. and an optical performance index is maintained, while increase in temp. can be suppressed. |
