PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for controlling a CRT display in a short time. SOLUTION: This device is composed of a signal generator 2 for outputting the signal of a pattern for measurement to a CRT display 1, a convergence measuring instrument 3 for measuring miss convergence quantities at least, five spots in the respective horizontal and vertical directions of the screen of the CRT display 1, where the pattern for measurement is displayed, and a host computer 4 for approximating a polynomial on the distribution of miss convergence quantities at horizontal or vertical positions within the screen from the miss convergence measuring values outputted from the convergence measuring instrument 3 and controlling the waveform of convergence correcting current of the CRT display 1 on the basis of the respective coefficient values of the polynomial.
