PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the absolute position of a photographing optical system after changing in the case that the moving position of the photographing optical system in an optical axis direction is changed by the impact of outside or the like at a zoom lens barrel. SOLUTION: A straight advancing moving lens barrel 8 holding the first group lens L1 and the second group lens L2 of the photographing optical system are connected by the projected part 1a of an encoder 1 which is a position detecting means at a connecting part 8a, and the position detection of the photographing optical system is performed by the encoder 1 by advancing the straight advancing moving lens barrel 8 straight, and the armature of a position judgement armature part 2 is brought into contact with a pattern on a position judgement flexible substrate 3 integrated with the outer periphery of a rotary can barrel 5, and the absolute position of the photographing optical system is detected by an output from the position judgement armature part 2 and that from the encoder 1.
