Radioactive radiator comprises a carrier substrate (25) enriched with radionuclides consisting of Pb-210 and/or Po-210. An independent claim is also included for a process for the production of a testing or calibrating radiator comprising enriching a carrier substrate with radionuclides. To prepare at least one part of the radionuclides, a substance (1) releasing Rn-222 into a sealed gas-, especially air-volume so that a substance retaining Rn-222 flows with the gas contained in the volume.
