<p>A golf ball (10) that provides improved playing characteristics by providing a cushioning interface between a center (13) and subsequent layers. The ball (10) is comprised of a center (13), a soft intermediate layer (15) around the center (13), an outer layer (16), and a cover (11). The intermediate layer (15) is an elastomeric latex or solution that will dry to form a soft film on the surface of the center (13). A soft rubber interlayer can serve as a cushioning interface to help improve durability and softness of the ball (10) upon club impact.</p> |
