The oil sump has upright guide walls for oil return from the oil circuit to an oil suction point of an oil pump. The guide walls (44,46,48) are located around defined return points (34) of the engine in such a way, that the returning oil flows along a side wall (36,38) and/or an end wall (40,42) to a suction point (24), thereby traveling over long distance.
