The invention concerns a building slab designed to be mounted on a support structure and capable of supporting a heavy load, whether fixed or mobile, comprising a base structure (16) consisting of a plurality of parallel planks (17), rectangular in cross-section, and assembled together with nails or screws, said planks with rectangular cross-section having their longitudinal axis parallel to the plane of the slab, and being alternately offset with respect to one another and perpendicularly so relatively to said slab plane. The invention is characterised in that the base structure (16) is covered, at least over the entire surface designed to receive the load, with a continuous panel (18), extending over its entire width, fixed at least against the top surface of the planks of the base structure, thereby enabling to distribute the loads exerted on said panel, over several lateral planks adjacent to those against which the load is directly exerted, said distribution being produced along an axis perpendicular to said planks, and therefore parallel to the direction in which the planks are nailed or screwed together.
