Minimizing influence of external noise on optical transmitter-receiver unit of optoelectronic sensor by placing transmissions at zero-crossing points of interfering signal

The noise present at the optical receiver is measured and the transmission pulse transmitted by the transmitter is adapted to the measured noise. The transmission pulse is such that the receiver measures positive and negative components of the noise, and these components cancel each other out in a subsequent evaluation unit. The temporal mid-point of the transmission signal is placed at the positive-going or negative-going zero-crossing point of the noise.
