<p>A control system for controlling the use of, and charging for time on a computer system or personal computer kiosk such as an Internet kiosk. The control system interfaces with a computer and with traditional transaction control devices such as coin or currency activated devices, debit card reader-writers and credit card terminals. In addition the control system can charge for printed output and scanned input, as well as charge for modem and other telecommunication utilization. Further, the control system is capable of securing the computer keyboard, mouse, modem, printer and additional peripheral against unauthorized usage through the implementation of mutually exclusive control means responsive to the transaction control device.</p> |
