The locking device has a tooth corrugation profile (8) with evolvent flanks formed on the circumference of the spindle in the region of a seal cover fixed to the spindle casing (6). Opposite it, there is a clamping segment (4) which can be displaced radially relative to the tool spindle axis (11). The clamping segment has a tooth hub profile on its side facing the tooth corrugation profile.
