The headrest adjustment device uses a sensor incorporated in the headrest for detecting the position of the passenger's head, the sensor employing a pair of capacitor plates (2,3), which are spaced apart so that the head (5) of the passenger acts as the capacitor dielectric, the size and shape of the capacitor plates ensuring that the same signal is obtained from each when the headrest is correctly adjusted. An Independent claim for a passenger seat headrest adjustment method is also included.
