Producing, transmitting and managing documents by automatically generating documentation structure using delivery files and transfer files

The method involves providing document data via a local network or an electronic data carrier. A documentation structure suitable for product data and document management systems (PDMS) is created. Delivery files (1) are used which contain one file or document packet of files, and a transfer file describing the file(s). The transfer files have respective file headers (5) giving the line length and number of blocks, one block containing a block number, a main part and a block end identifier.
