<p>An exercise apparatus allowing movement in three planes of operation and resisting movement in one plane. The apparatus includes vertical slide blocks 10 slidably mounted on vertically extending slide bars 7, horizontal slide blocks 16 slidably mounted on slide bars 15 and handgrips 18 slidably mounted on a training bar 17, thus providing the three planes of operation. A spanning bar 11 may connect with each slide block 10 and allows cables to pass over pulleys 12 and 13 and down to an adjustable weight stack. The horizontally sliding bar 15 and training bar 17 may be locked at different heights by means of locking levers 19 and (21 figure 3). Also disclosed is an attachment in the form of a variable load peak contraction system (figure 12).</p> |
