The system comprises of a two stop pieces (16) mounted to the chassis assembly (2) of the vehicle. The stops are formed from rigid non-deformable material such as steel and are mounted directly in front of the engine (1) and rack and pinion steering assemblies (4). In the event of a frontal impact, the stops prevent deformation of the area around the engine and lessen the impact on the rack and pinion assembly.
