PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a carbon fiber-entangled form with excellent resilience, flowability, handleability, safety, etc., by agitating specific curved carbon fibers and soft spherical balls together to effect granulation. SOLUTION: This carbon fiber-entangled form consisting of spherical balls each 0.5-20 (pref. 1-10) mm in diameter and having a bulk density of 0.01-0.30 (pref. 0.02-20) g/cm3 is obtained by charging a rolling granulator with the vessel itself rotatable or an agitating granulator equipped with an agitating blade with the vessel itself immobile, with 1 pt.wt. of curved carbon fibers 0.3-30 (pref. 0.5-10) mm in average fiber length and >=9 cm3/g in specific volume and 0.01-10 pts.wt. of soft spherical balls of chloroprene-based rubber together. |
