PACKAGE FOR RETAINING FRESHNESS OF VEGETABLES AND FRUITS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package for retaining the freshness of vegetables and fruits comprising a lid material film and a container body having shape retaining properties and capable of packaging many kinds of conventionally unobtainable vegetables and fruits in a good modified atmosphere(MA) state. SOLUTION: This package comprises a lid material film composed of a plastic film and a container body composed of at least two layers of a porous material sealable with the lid material film or a plastic layer and the porous material sealable with the lid material film and provides a higher gaseous carbon dioxide concentration in the package than that in the atmosphere and a lower oxygen concentration in the package than that in the atmosphere after placing the vegetables and fruits therein and hermetically sealing the package in the package for retaining the freshness of the vegetables and fruits comprising the lid material film and the container body having shape retaining properties.
