PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterfall device for indoor use, which is decorative and educational, and which is also suitable for humidification. SOLUTION: A waterfall device 10 for decoration and education has a substantially continuous curtain of liquid e.g. water, a low-viscosity oil or an aqueous solution, and this curtain extends between two guides vertically standing upright. The waterfall device includes a base reserver 12 having an electric pump mounted in the interior of the reserver 12. A tower 26 including a liquid passage is mounted to a base and a gutter 30 having two side walls, and a bottom wall of the gutter 30, whose edge portion at the front edge thereof serves as a terminal end, is mounted to the tower 26 in such a manner that the liquid flowing into the gutter from the tower 26 flows on the bottom wall and the edge portion of the gutter 30 to form the waterfall between the two guides standing upright. The bottom wall of the gutter 30 is so formed as to direct a water stream outward and to improve adherence of the water stream to the guides. One or more of restricting members crossing the gutter 30 are mounted to the edge portion in substantially parallel therewith, thereby reducing turbulance of the flowing liquid and increasing capability of the liquid forming the continuous curtain.
