PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grilled rice ball capable of giving a flavor and a texture similar to those of a just grilled rice ball, even when heated and cooled in a microwave oven, after stored at the ordinary temperature, in a refrigerator, in a freezer, etc., to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide a frozen grilled rice ball. SOLUTION: This grilled rice ball has a sauce on its surface, wherein a part of the sauce is inward permeated from the surface of the grilled rice ball. The method for producing the grilled rice ball comprises (A) a process for molding boiled rice or steamed rice into a rice ball shape, (B) a process for inward impregnating a sauce from a part of the surface of the molded grilled rice ball, (C) a process for adhering the sauce to the surface of the molded rice ball, and (D) a process for grilling the surface of the molded rice ball, wherein the process D is carried out after the process B. |
