PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition having excellent effect of wholly washing off contaminants, causing no creaking-like feel of the hair when rinsed, with the powder homogeneously dispersed and stabilized, and mild to the skin and hair by combining water-insoluble powder with an N-long-chain acylamino acid salt, etc. SOLUTION: This creamy shampoo composition comprises (A) 1-40 wt.% of a N-long-chain acylamino acid salt (e.g. sodium N-lauroylglutamate), (B) 0.1-10 wt.% of a fatty acid alkylolamide (e.g. lauric acid diethanolamide), (C) 0.01-5 wt.% of a cationic polymer (e.g. a cationized cellulose derivative), and (D) 0.1-20 wt.% of water-insoluble powder (e.g. titanium oxide). It is preferable that the water-insoluble powder as the component D is 50-200μm in average particle size and of spherical and/or indefinite shape, and the composition additionally contain (E) 0.01-2 wt.% of at least one kind of ingredient selected from 1-menthol, menthol derivatives and camphor.
