TREATMENT OF WATER CONTAINING ENDOCRINE DISRUPTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove endocrine disruptors such as hormones and synthetic hormones in water and to make the water harmless at a low cost by adding a flocculant and a hydrophobic material having a specified main pore diameter to the water containing the endocrine disruptors besides exogeneous endocrine disturbing chemicals and carrying out solid-liquid separation. SOLUTION: A flocculant and a hydrophobic material having >=12Åmain pore diameter are added to water containing endocrine disruptors and solid- liquid separation is carried out. When the water contains about 0.1μg/l to 10 mg/l infinitesimal endocrine disruptors, the concentration of the endocrine disruptors can be reduced to about 0.01-lμg/l by the synergistic effect of the flocculant and the hydrophobic material. The flocculant is not particularly limited and any of inorganic and organic flocculants may be used.
