PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the confirmation of a switching position or switching operation by vertically guiding the rear end of a paper sheet tray in a circular form, thereby producing a virtual center at the tip of the sheet tray, and supporting the sheet tray in such a manner as to be elastically displaceable. SOLUTION: A tray support mechanism 4 is formed of a circular guide rail 11p and a slider 12p provided on a rear end 2s and installed to the guide rail 11p to move parallel along the guide rail 11p. When paper sheets P... are successively stacked in a sheet tray 2, the rear end 2s of the sheet tray 2 supported by an elastic member 5p descends along a circular track with the virtual center produced at the tip 2t of the sheet tray 2 as the fulcrum. Accordingly, a moment based on the virtual center is caused in the sheet tray 2, so that substantially the same descending quantity can be set in different sheet sizes by use of the moment generated by the difference in center-of-gravity position of the sheets P... on the sheet tray 2.
