PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly secure the registration of rear ends of sheets. SOLUTION: A sheet discharge device 1 is furnished with a sheet draw-in means 50 to move a sheet toward a sheet receiver member by rotationally making contact with an upper surface of the sheet fed in on a sheet stacking means to stack the sheet by receiving an end part of the fed-in sheet by the sheet receiver member positioned on the downstream side in the carrying direction of the sheet, a sheet delivery means 13 having contact pieces 60a, 60b to discharge the sheet by moving it in the opposite direction of a direction in which the sheet draw-in means moves the sheet by pushing a rear end of the sheet on the sheet stacking means, a motive power transmission means 14 to transmit torque of a reciprocating driving means 70 to the sheet draw-in means and the sheet delivery means, an unidirectional rotating clutch 105 provided between the motive power transmission means and the sheet delivery means and to transmit reverse torque of the driving means to the sheet delivery means and an escape means not to transmit a play of the motive power transmission means to the unidirectional rotating clutch.
