摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To try to simplify the working process of joint component parts, and to achieve the reduction in the cost of this constant velocity universal joint. SOLUTION: In this constant velocity universal joint equipped with an outer side member 1 including plural guiding grooves 1b in its inner circumferential part, an inner side member 2 including plural guiding grooves 2b in its outer circumferential part, a torque transmitting ball 3 disposed in a ball track, and with a holder holding a torque transmitting ball 4, the holder 4 is formed out of graphite steel treated by austempering. The basic constitution of graphite steel consists of 0.45 to 0.75% C, 0.2 to 1.0% Si, 0.2 to 1.0% Mn, less than 0.025% S, less than 0.02% P, 0.01 to 0.1% Al, 0.001 to 0.004% B, and 0.002 to 0.008% N, and the remainder consists of Fe and unavoidable impurities.
