PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wall surface protecting structure allowing laths to be easily fitted to frame members of a wall surface so as to hardly influence on building structure in the case of load shifting, facilitating lath replacing work and dispensing with maintenance such as repainting. SOLUTION: This wall surface protecting structure is detachably fitted with longitudinal laths 6 through fixtures 5 on the indoor side of lateral frame members 2 (2a, 2b, 2c) of a wall surface. The rack bar 6 is a hollow column body with a cavity part formed over the whole length, and a slit narrower than the width of the cavity part is formed on the back face over the whole length. The fixture 5 used in this case can be a fixed 5 comprising L-shaped fitting with through-holes formed in both pieces connected at a right angle, a retaining piece having a threaded hole and irrotationally insertable in the cavity part of the rack bar 6, and a screw or bolt screwed in the threaded hole of the keep piece through the through-hole of one piece of the L-shaped fitting; or a fixture comprising a nearly U-shaped metal fitting with a through hole, the retaining piece, and a screw or bolt thread-fastened to the threaded hole of the retaining piece through the through hole of the nearly U-shaped fitting.
