PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent an occupant from suffering from whiplash by moving a head rest further frontward with the movement of the upper half body of the occupant during rear-end collision. SOLUTION: A head rest supporting frame 12 mounted with a head rest 10 is supported at its vertical middle portion so as to be rotationally movable a proper distance downwardly from the upper end of the side of a seat back frame 2 by a pivotally supporting bracket 5 and a pressure receiving portion 20 is provided for receiving a load applied from the front of a seat back is provided at the lower part of the head rest supporting frame 12. The head rest 10 is moved further frontward in response to the movement amount of the pressure receiving portion 20 with the backward movement of the upper half body of an occupant during rear-end collision.
