PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a windbreak fence which enables the drivers of vehicles to safely drive the vehicles by damping a cross-wind force by constituting a wall surface when a strong wind blows and to safely and comfortably drive the vehicles by securing a wide visual field without spoiling the spectacle under a relatively stable moderate atmospheric condition. SOLUTION: An upper panel 4 and a lower panel 6 are vertically connected to each other with hinges 5 between supports 1. To a fixed-side support 1A, an air cylinder 3 is installed with its cylinder rod 2 upside. Then the front end of the rod 2 is fixed to the internal top of a hollow moving-side support 1B which is slid upward/downward on the outer periphery of the support 1A. In addition, the bearing shaft 7 installed to the upper part of the side section of the upper panel 4 is pivotally attached to the support 1B and a bearing shaft 8 installed to the lower part of the side section of the lower panel 6 is pivotally attached to the support 1A.
