PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge oil flowing into a valve chamber even when the bottom of the valve chamber is placed at a position lower than the upper part of a cylinder body in order to lower the whole height of an engine. SOLUTION: The bottom of a housing 5a forming a valve chamber is arranged at a position shifted to a lower part toward the upper part of a cylinder head 4 in a tilted type engine. Also, a camshaft 12 is arranged horizontally on the bottom of the valve chamber. When oil flowing into the valve chamber is stored on the bottom of the valve chamber, an oil discharge groove 12d formed in an inclined tooth shape on a journal 12b formed on one side of he camshaft 12 squeezes up oil. Oil is fed to a neighboring oil discharge chamber 17 and discharged to a crank chamber 2a through an oil discharge passage 18 connecting to the oil discharge chamber 17.
