STORAGE OF ALKYLETHERIFIED MELAMINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable suppression of molecular weight increase in storage for a long period of time and formation of an excellent electro-deposited coating film for a long period of time in the case of using an electro-deposited coating material as a hardener by co-existing an amine compound with an alkyletherified melamine and storing the alkyletherified melamine. SOLUTION: This method is to store alkyletherified melamine by coexisting 0.01-5 pts.wt. of an amine compound (e.g. monoethylamine) per 100 pts.wt. of alkyletherified melamine. Preferably, the stored alkyletherified melamine is dissolved in an organic solvent (e.g. isopropanol). The alkyletherified melamine contains s condensate of melamine with an aldehyde compound such as formaldehyde. The alkyletherfified melamine obtained by methylolating melamine with formaldehyde and alkyletherified by affecting an alcohol is expressed by the formula (R1-R6 are each H or a 1-4C alkyl).
