PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain proper drag performances, to lighten a spool and to make channels shallow. SOLUTION: A spool 4 of a spinning reel is a spool which is longitudinally movable based on a reel main body 2 connected through a drag mechanism 60 having drag plates 62a to 62e to a spool shaft 15. The spool is equipped with a cylindrical spool main body 7, a large-diameter flange part 8 and a flange fixing member 9. The spool main body 7 has a spool barrel part 4a. The flange part 8 is attached to the front edge of the spool barrel part 4a. The flange fixing member 9 is a member which has a cylindrical screw part 9a to be screwed to the inner peripheral face of the spool main body 7, a cylindrical drag storage part 9b having a space capable of housing the drag plates 62a to 62e integrally formed at intervals at the inner peripheral side of the screw part 9a in the interior and a contact part 9c to be brought into contact with the flange part at the tip of the screw part 9b and fixes the flange part 8 to the spool main body 7.
