PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving circuit technique for a printing head capable of effectively preventing waste of energy that has been neglected in the charge and discharge process of a printing head using a capacitance element such as a piezoelectric element. SOLUTION: In the case the number of driving nozzles is less than a predetermined number, a charge side controller 1 switches off a transistor Tr31, and on/off a transistor Tr33. Moreover, a discharge side controller 2 switches off a transistor Tr32, and on/off a transistor Tr34. By a second inductor (coil) L2 having an inductance value smaller than that of a first inductor (coil) L1, the voltageυc of a print head H is smoothed as well as the discharge energy is accumulated. Accordingly, waste of energy can be prevented by using a coil with a small inductance at the time of a light load, that is in the case the capacity CL of the printing head H is small.
