PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a backlash preventive device for fishing reel capable of inhibiting over rotative speed, increasing flying distance of a terminal tackle as compared with conventional one by installing a generator, high speed switch, detector for rotational speed and a specific signal processor. SOLUTION: A double bearing type reel for fishing having a generator comprising a coil 213 installed on the reel body 100 and a magnet fixed on the spool 200 and rotating the periphery of the coil 213 as an unit with the spool 200, this back lash inhibitor comprises the generator comprising a coil 213 and a magnet, a high speed switch connected to the generator, a detector for rotational speed of the spool 200 and a signal processor calculating the rate of change of the rotational speed of the spool 200 and commanding the close or open of the high speed switch.
