PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize correction during image recording even when image recording is performed using a plurality of recording heads by printing specified marks on the surface and back face of a recording sheet, respectively, using different print heads and then confirming and correcting the recording start position and the carrying speed with reference to the marks through use of a recording sensor. SOLUTION: Carrying rollers 50a, b; 51a, b, c; 52a, b are driven, respectively, through Ma motor 17, Mb motor 18 and Mf motor 22 and nip rollers 53, 54, 55 are driven through Mc, Md, Me nip motors 19, 20, 21. A reference position sensor 7 detects entering of a recording sheet 100 into a reference position, nip detection sensors 8-10 detect nipping state of the nip rollers 53-55, and record confirming sensor 11, 12 detect marks printed by print heads 15, 16. A corresponding recording head 13, 14, 15, 16 receives a recording signal and performs printing on the surface and back of the recording sheet. A developing section 60 develops the record content and a control section detects and corrects the recording start position and the carrying speed.
