PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat accumulating heater in which a damper changing- over in an air blowing passage can be carried out positively and a flow of air blowing can be carried out normally. SOLUTION: A damper 17 controls a damper motor 18, closes either an upper opening or a side opening of a damper case 19, and selects an air blowing passage extending from a blower 9. When the upper opening is closed by the damper 17, air blown from the blower 9 at the lower opening passes through the side opening and escapes toward a damper opening 7 of a rear constituting member B. In turn, when the side opening is closed by the damper 17, air flowed from the blower 9 passes through the upper opening of the damper case 19 and is blown out of the air blowing-out port 20. At the air blowing passage for the heat accumulating tank 1 and at the air blowing passage for the clean air blowing-out port (air discharging port) 20 are arranged either near-by switches or micro-switches 40, 41 acted as sensing means for sensing that the damper 17 is closed.
