PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dinitroantholinimide derivative having high electron and hole transportability, and to provide an electrophotographic sensitizer using the dinitroantholinimide derivative, capable of lowering a residual electric potential and improving the sensitivity by using the dinitroantholinimide derivative as the sensitizer, and capable of being especially suitably used as a single layer type sensitizer. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic sensitizer using a dinitroantholinimide derivative is obtained by forming a sensitizer containing the dinitroantholinimide derivative of the formula (R1-R7 are each the same or differently a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group, nitro group, cyano group, hydroxyl group or a halogen atom), and is suitably used for a sensitizer having a single layer structure. The sensitizer having the single layer structure contains at least an electric charge-generating agent, the dinitroantholinimide derivative of the formula and a binding resin in a dispersed state.
