PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit safe conveyance by preventing a worker's foot or foreign matter such as a pebble or a wooden chip fallen on a floor, from being caught in a caster when conveying a hand lifter. SOLUTION: This hand lifter protecting device is composed of a body member 31 detachably attached to an under carriage 4 of a hand lifter 1, and skirt member 33 formed of hard rubber material or the like and fitted to the body member 31 so as to be extended to the outer peripheral part of a main caster 10. The hand lifter protecting device is additionally provided at the hand lifter 1 provided with a load receiving base 2; a caster 3 imparting traveling ability to the load receiving base 2; elevating mechanism 5 disposed between the load receiving base 2 and the under carriage 4 of the caster 3; and a handle member 6 driving the elevating mechanism 5 to put the load receiving base 2 in elevating action with respect to the under carriage 4 of the caster 3 and performing a handle function during travel.
