PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher capable of loading or taking out dishes even when the dishwasher is installed at a low position. SOLUTION: Since the dishwasher is provided with a base basket 7 to be put in a washing tub and at least one auxiliary basket 13 washable while being installed on the plane of the base basket 7, the auxiliary basket 13 of a smaller dish storage area than the base basket 7 is moved on the counter of kitchen and dishes can be loaded to and taken out from the basket 13 so that workability of a user is improved. Since a holding part 11 for holding the auxiliary basket 13 above the base basket 7 is provided, when the auxiliary basket 13 is not used as an upper basket, the dishes can be washed while installing it on the base basket 7 of a lower basket and any useless space for placing the upper basket 13 is not required. Further, corresponding to the number or size of dishes, the auxiliary basket 13 is installed on the plane of the base basket 7 or held by the holding part 11 so as to be installed as the upper basket.
