PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacity control valve wherein a variable displacement compressor not in an overloaded state is prevented from elapsing into an overloaded state when, for example, a coil becomes unenergizable due to a severance of wire or the like. SOLUTION: A bellows 46 modifies a discharge capacity of a variable displacement compressor by operating a valve element 44 in accordance with an intake pressure for opening and closing a control passageway 30 communicating an intake chamber 24 and a crankcase 15. A solenoid part 42 modifies an attraction between a plunger 50 and a stationary attractor 49 in accordance with an input current value to a coil 51 and modifies a set intake pressure being a criteria for operation of the bellows 46. The solenoid part 42 increases the set intake pressure as the input current value to the coil 51 becomes smaller, and sets the set intake pressure at a maximum value when the coil 51 is not energized.
