PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively achieve sterilization without damaging a medical instrument and without excessive residue by introducing a known quantity of a sterilizing agent in a sterilizing chamber, measuring a parameter related to the density of the sterilizing agent during introduction or after it, and performing a process of determine load to the sterilizing chamber from the density during the measurement or after it and repeating it at need to sterilize the load. SOLUTION: After the hydrogen peroxide density in a chamber 10 is decided by a peroxide monitor, desirably the density is monitored as a function of time. The hydrogen peroxide in the sterilizing chamber 10 is generally decreased with time due to decomposition of hydrogen peroxide, adsorption or absorption of the sterilizing chamber 10 and/or the surface of an article in the chamber 10, and reaction with the material in the chamber 10. Generally preferably the hydrogen peroxide density is monitored as a function of time to measure the change speed of the hydrogen peroxide density. When the decrease in density is large, much more hydrogen peroxide can be added to the chamber 10. |
