PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent cleaning performance even when exhaust gas has high temp. and oxidizing properties. SOLUTION: This metal carrier catalyst for cleaning of exhaust gas consists of a metal carrier formed of a metal sheet or a metal foil, a carrier layer consisting of a heat-resistant ceramic formed on the surface of the metal carrier and a metal catalyst carried on the carrier layer. In this case, the metal sheet or the metal foil is formed from an alloy consisting of at least 17 wt.% chromium, at least one of at least 0.2 wt.% niobium and at least 0.2 wt.% copper, at least 0.2 wt.% niobium and at least 0.2 wt.% molybdenum and at least 1.0 wt.% aluminum and iron of the balance. |
