PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent steam from entering the optical frame, when subjected to autoclave sterilization using high pressure high temperature water by employing a joining method that has a simple structure, is easily assembled and stands high pressure high temperature water. SOLUTION: As a filling chamber, a surrounding groove 41 is formed for filling top end cover glass 13, CCD cover glass 22 and an insulating frame 15 with steam non-permeable materials and through holes 42 are respectively formed on a cover glass frame 14 and a supporting frame 21. Then, a bonding part 31 between the top end cover glass 13 and cover glass frame 14 in an image pickup unit 2, a bonding part 32 between the CCD cover glass 22 and the supporting frame 21, a bonding part 33 between the cover glass frame 14 and the insulating frame 15 and a bonding part 34 between the insulating frame 15 and the supporting frame 21 are mutually fitted and the surrounding groove 41 is filled with steam non-permeable materials 43.
