PURPOSE:To reduce the ink residue and lessen the element replacement frequency by a method wherein, an ink supply pipe pressure inserted into a porous body contained in an ink tank and introducing ink into an ink chamber, is pressure inserted into the porous body longer than the inner diameter of the supply pipe. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet head(IJH) integrated with an ink container comprises an ink container 1000 containing porous body 900 for holding ink, an ink chamber for holding ink which is fed to a delivery energy generator, an ink feed pipe 2200 pressure inserted into the porous body in the ink tank and introducing ink into the ink chamber, and a recording head provided with a filter F at an end of the feed pipe 2200. The feed pipe is pressure inserted into the porous body 900 longer than the maximum length of the sectional area S of the ink feed pipe, i.e., more than the inner diameter thereof. Since a compression region of the porous body 900 in the contacting area with the filter F is formed sufficiently over the entire area of the filter, it is prevented that the ambient air is preferentially concentrated to the filter F. |
