PURPOSE: A public garbage can is provided to effectively prevent a thoughtless putting much life garbage in a garbage can and simply gather the garbage. CONSTITUTION: A public garbage can is installed on streets or on public places. The public garbage can comprises a body(10), an inlet(20) and a bottom cover(30). The body(10) of cylindrical form is installed with predetermined gap with the earth surface and the top thereof is shut off and on beneath of the bottom thereof is formed an opening portion(12). The inlet(20) is formed on one side of the body(10). The bottom cover(30) is engaged on the opening portion(12) of the body(10), thereby being opened/shut. Therefore, putting much life garbage in a public garbage can become difficult by a shutting off of the top surface(11) of the body(10).
