RS DECODER HAVING PREMULTIPLICATION

PURPOSE: An RS decoder having a premultiplication is provided to reduce the size of hardware and the cost by using a simple multiplier of performing multiplications in advance. CONSTITUTION: An error syndrome(1) checks whether there is an error of a received signal. An error position polynomial calculator(2) calculates an error position polynomial from an output signal of the error syndrome(1). An error estimation polynomial calculator(4) calculates an error estimation polynomial from the output signal of the error syndrome(1). Multipliers(3, 9) repeatedly multiplies the outputs of the error estimation polynomial calculator(9) and the error position polynomial calculator(4) by a corresponding code length of a received signal.
