PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting an over-current of an inverter air conditioner is provided to improve the efficiency and the reliability of an inverter air conditioner by detecting an over-current of the inverter air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for detecting an over-current of an inverter air conditioner comprises a rectifying section(101), a condenser(103), a current detecting device(102), an inverter protecting section(105), a microprocessor(200), an inverter driving section(107), and an inverter portion(104). The inverter protecting section(105) includes an over-current detecting section(105a) and an over-current signal outputting section(105b). The microprocessor(200) includes a signal detecting section(200a), a motor driving controlling section(200b), and a control signal outputting section(200c). The inverter driving section(107) modulates the driving control signal which is outputted from the microprocessor(200), and output the signal through an output terminal(108).
