PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for extracting metal oxides using waste acids are provided, to simplify the process, to improve the recovery efficiency of oxides, to enable the particle size and specific area of oxides to be controlled easily. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of spraying waste acids, cracking it at high temperature, and separating powder from gas; separating and collecting powder from the gas/powder mixture; and washing the gas with a neutralizing water. The apparatus comprises a spray roaster (10) which consists of a nozzle (15) which sprays waste acids, a tube (14) where a mist of waste acids passes and a heater (12) which cracks the waste acids; a cyclone (20) which separates powder from gas/powder mixture; a collector (30) which collects the unseparated powder and passes gas only; and a gas washer (40) which neutralizes the gas and ventilates air only.
