PURPOSE: A method for detecting motion of a camera is provided to detect the motion of the camera regardless of the brightness of peripherals. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting motion of a camera includes following steps. At the first step, a sampling with a predetermined size is performed at every frame. At the second step, a pixel deviation is calculated at each frame. At the third step, an absolute value is calculated by comparing the pixel deviation for calculated frames. At the forth step, the motion is detected when the absolute value exceeds reference value. At the fifth step, current motion is detected when the number of positions at which motion is detected at the preceding steps exceeds a predetermined number.
