PURPOSE: A bi-planar vacuum fluorescent display(VFD) is provided to simplify the manufacturing processes and has a better external looks. CONSTITUTION: A bi-planar vacuum fluorescent display(VFD) comprises a front substrate(23) and a back substrate(30) placed facing each other with a distance and having a display between them, a spacer(24) displaced on the edge of the two substrates to maintain a vacuum between the two substrates with a certain distance between them, a connect part to connect the edge of the back substrate and the spacer, a getter container(21) having a getter material inside the vacuum, a getter sensing part(32) displaced on one side of the back substrate to determine if the getter container is installed inside the vacuum, a black layer(31) displaced besides the display and the getter sensing part, the black layer made of glass adhesive and color material.
