PURPOSE: A digital video cassette recorder having a simple operating function, is provided to simply control an operation of the digital video cassette recorder by easily executing power-on/off, camera operation, and screen control on a front surface of a controller, without a keyboard or a mouse. CONSTITUTION: A digital video cassette recorder having a simple operating function, controls a camera operation of a cam box(15) responding to an input, and stores a video taken by a camera, plays and outputs the taken video on a screen. The digital video cassette recorder comprises an input unit and a controller(24). The input unit is composed of a key input unit(21) having buttons included a power button(21b) and a camera selecting/password button. The controller(24), when a password inputted from the input unit is the same as a pre-setup password, controls power-on/off via the input unit, the cam box(15) according to a key input of the input unit, an output to a monitor, and storing and playing of signals from the taken video in an internal memory.
